Urban design
The DO and Co Hotel is situated right in the heart of old Vienna, facing the ornate St Stephen’s Cathedral in the pedestrianized area of Stephensplatz. From here the Mozart House Museum is just a short distance away and the Kaerntner Street shops are within easy walking distance. The Museum district and the Burgtheater can be reached on foot or on the U-bahn metro. The DO and CO is 40 minutes from the Vienna airport.
This unique design hotel offers sophisticated accommodation in an ultra-modern glass building right in the midst of Vienna’s 19th century old town architecture. The stone-clad walls and sweeping open staircase from the reception area are more reminiscent of a theatre rather than a luxury hotel in Vienna, but despite the minimalist first impressions, the hotel is very comfortable and well-appointed. The urban look throughout is the work of award-winning designer Hans Hollein.
This smart luxury hotel is part of the DO and CO chain which is well known for its commercial and airline catering. The Gourmet DO and CO restaurant within the hotel is a far-cry from airline standard meals, with gourmet cuisine offered in the plush white-leather dining room. Specializing in sushi and oriental cuisine as well as Austrian traditional food, this restaurant serves theatre on a plate.
The Onyx Bar offers fabulous 360 degree views from its all-glass walls with stunning views of the old city. It is a popular place for locals to socialize and enjoy the lounge music, cocktails and of course the outlook.
The bedrooms are spacious with smooth lines and clever storage of the in-wall cocktail and wine bar and the flatscreen Bang and Olufsen TV. The marble bathrooms are equally light and bright with modern vanity units and walk-in glass showers. Amenties include internet connections, a mobile phone and a second TV in the bathroom. This luxury hotel leaves absolutely nothing out.
The hotel offers a concierge booking service, breakfast, room service and valet parking nearby, which is essential as the hotel is in a pedestrianized area of the city.
