Detailed Review
The Etnia Pousada Hotel is a small boutique hotel on the southern coast of Bahia, Brazil. Nestled in its own ’corner of the jungle’, this boutique hotel epitomises boho-chic. A favourite for fashion shoots, design journalists, and leisure travellers, the Etnia Pousada Hotel mixes low-key character and bohemia with contemporary design in a natural setting. The facilities This boutique hotel boasts a large swimming pool which is surrounded by a shaded forest. Yoga sessions, massage and watsu water therapy are available in the boutique hotel’s wellness centre. Other activities include shopping in the nearby Quadrado market and of course a dip in the ocean. Meals and drinks are served in the funky open-sided bar area by the pool. Stylish contemporary furnishings, white tablecloths, music and friendly helpful staff make it feel chic yet relaxed. Breakfast is an enjoyable experience at this boutique hotel, with the usual continental spread as well as fried bananas, tapioca pancakes filled with ricotta and warm pain de quejo. In the evening, head out to the village for some international cuisine. The rooms The Etnia Pousada Hotel consists of eight different bungalows with distinct world themes ranging from Africa to the Orient. The Tribal room has African-inspired art, animal prints and dark wood accents, whereas the Trancoso room has colourful murals of the village. Most rooms have a four poster bed, a large walk-in shower and small indoor garden. As well as a TV, phone, air conditioning, and a shaded wooden verandah to relax on.
