Detailed Review

The Hotel Le A in Paris is a singular, astonishing place of transit which almost defies the imagination. A unique, temporary base, where each door conceals both dreams and impressions. Everything here is out of the ordinary.

Our team look after our guests' every need from the moment they arrive at the hotel to the time of their departure.; we speak English, Italian, German, Spanish and French.

The Hotel Le A was designed by Frederic Mechiche like a town house. The Hotel Le A has a large lounge with a library proposing a selection of Art and Design books and boasts 25 sumptuous guest bedrooms, including 9 junior suites, 1 classic room, 7 superior rooms, 8 deluxe rooms and 1 apartment. Each room is equipped with all modern amenities to enhance your stay: air conditioning, interactive satellite television with 16 channels, the Wi-Fi connection technology, electronic control of the blinds, adjustable lights. The rooms each have ensuite bathrooms with hair-dryer and bath tub, shower or both.

Independent Reviews

    Hotel Le A
    By Jamie Dunford Wood

The name of this hotel sets the tone of what to expect - as the hotel literature helpfully points out, A is the first letter of the alphabet, the hotel is in rue Artois, and there are 26 rooms. Geddit? More pertinently, we feel, the way the A is written, chinese-caligraphic style, resembles the Eiffel Tower; though this is nowhere particularly near.

The Le A is certainly a 'design' or 'concept' hotel in a real sense, opened in 2003. It draws the English-in-the-know at weekends, designers in the week, as well as Russians, for its proximity to the design boutiques of the Faubourg St Honore. The staff are black-clad, and colours change in the elevator (not theirs, unless you start removing yours). The public dcor is by way of a large mural in reception and stylized grafitti on the walls. There's an interesting library of art books.

Upstairs, the rooms are on the small side, unless you opt for a junior suite or get one of the 03s, which are slightly larger. But there's a predomominence of white - with black and grey/green, so they don't feel cramped. All the light fittings, furniture and even vases are uniquely chosen for the hotel, and the floors are striped. There can be some noise at weekends from the neighbouring disco, so choose courtside rooms to be sure of calm.
