Detailed Review
A hotel has opened in Paris where the combination of contemporary design and modern technology enable a new concept of highly personalised service. In close collaboration with the designer Christophe Pillet, Shahé Kalaidjian, the hotel’s director, has created a venue that bears the stamp of authenticity. Noble and natural material, specially designed furniture combined with contrasting tones exudes a cosmopolitan and Zen-like atmosphere. Complimentary broadband internet access, flat screen televisions, CD/DVD players with free movies, wireless direct dial telephones; guests are surrounded by unimposing technology.
This design boutique hotel liberates the receptionist from behind its conventional counter to become a Personal Assistant (PA), who acts as the sole intermediary for his pampered clients. Your PA welcomes you with a drink on the house and looks after all your wishes: restaurant reservations, taxis, personalised cultural visits in Paris, a tour to the Veuve Clicquot champagne cellars in Reims, etc.
At Sezz you will find spacious rooms with surprising bathrooms, a wellbeing area with massage room, steam bath and jacuzzi, a champagne bar and a meeting room (maximum 10 people).
Two steps from the Eiffel tower and the Seine river, Sezz is tucked away in a small and quiet street. Rue de Passy, perfect for shopping, is just around the corner.
Sezz, an exclusive approach to the art of living.

Hotel Sezz
By Josie van der SchaafA design hotel in every sense of the word. Attractive, stern grey stone walls extend throughout the hotel and even into the bedrooms. Bedrooms are good, though not overly large. Some rooms have king-sized baths, big enough for two. Two rooms have (partial!) views of the Eiffel Tower for a fee.
This hotel is not one to lounge in: no restaurant, no real bar, small modern lounge and very un-cosy breakfast room. However, the design ethic, the good rooms, the parking (so important in Paris), the little Jacuzzi and sauna and the friendly staff may make up for deficiencies.© Travel Intelligence. "Christophe Pillet's dramatic and ultra-chic design hotel is a hideaway in the busy capital across the Seine from the Eiffel Tower."
Dramatic and elegantly designed; staff professional and welcoming.
Hotel Sezz
By Jamie Dunford Wood
A wonderfully quiet designer hotel near the river, the Hotel Sezz is a converted townhouse. Reception staff, tucked away in a small office off the little public space, are unfailingly attentive and helpful - in fact the Sezz offers them as 'personal assistants' to guests, along with free wi-fi and phone roaming. As such its a favourite with style-conscious working execs in the week, and often has great rates at weekends.
The rooms
The rooms come in various flavours - mostly based on how the bathrooms are configured: some in the room behind glass, some freestanding, etc. Cool contemporary materials include grey slate (and not any old slate, but pierre de caiscais from Portugal), cream composite bathrooms, tonal lighting and graphic and photo art on the walls. Downstairs there's a small hammam and jacuzzi. The only downside of the Hotel Sezz - for some at least - is its off-centre position and lack of local street community buzz. But the metro is close, and there is no comparable design hotel in Paris for such reasonable rates.
