Situated a little way out of the central tourist areas of Paris, the Kube Hotel is close to the cobbled streets of the old artists’ quarter at Montmartre, within easy walking distance of the Sacre Coeur and the Gare du Nord.
Guests seeking high-tech gadgets in a futuristic hotel will appreciate the Kube. Although the exterior of the building is a typically historic Parisian townhouse, guests are quickly whisked into the mid-21 st century. The 41 rooms and suites of this modern boutique Paris hotel are arranged around a courtyard, giving plenty of natural light and a feeling of open space. Digital door openings are novel, and the computer screen doubles up as TV, DVD and CD for entertainment, with high speed internet access as you would expect. Cubes are the theme for the ultra modern furniture including bedside tables which look like ice cubes, simple wooden chairs and fluorescent stools. Even the curtains are made of faux fur fabric.
Following the success of many Grey Goose ice bars throughout the world, the Kube Hotel is home to Paris’s first ice bar. A cool concept in every sense of the word, the Ice Kube bar is a fun place to meet friends or just to enjoy the experience of drinking cocktails from glasses carved out of ice, whilst dressed in warm hooded capes, and surrounded by a solid ice bar and icy walls. A further cocktail room compliments the lounge bar and fitness room within the hotel. Breakfast lunch and dinner are all served in the lounge bar, to the sounds of a live DJ on some evenings. Other surprising features are the two screening rooms with state-of-the-art facilities. Choose from the fully staffed blue salon or the orange salon for a unique press conference or business meeting venue.
Although not cheap, the Kube Hotel does offer a unique experience of life in the future, not found in other design hotels in Paris. This boutique hotel is not only trendy in design but is well ahead of the pack in its attitude too. Transfers to the station and airport are offered in the eco-friendly Lexus hybrid RX400 – another clever service idea.
