Detailed Review
The Belvedere luxury hotel is located in Greece’s Mykonos Island, surrounded by stunning gardens of cypresses, bouganvillas and laurels at the edge of Chora. In 1995 the Belvedere was built around the structure of an existing 18th-century mansion, and designed with elements of the surrounding Cycladic architecture. The Belvedere sits at the height of Rohari hill, just five minutes walking distance from the most glamorous and cosmopolitan street of Mykonos.
The facilities
The luxury hotel includes Remvie, a restaurant which offers a variety of seasonal mediterranean dishes. The Belvedere wine cellar has 250 varieties and is open for visits, small receptions and wine tastings. The Belvedere also boasts an outdoor sushi bar called Matsuhisa Mykonos, which serves authentic Japanese delicacies. For exercise there is also a swimming pool, lounge area and fitness studio. The Belvedere also provides several spa treatments, including jacuzzi aroma- therapy.
The rooms
The Belvedere comprises seven small buildings, resembling the houses of Chora; all arranged around an asymmetrical pool with views of Chora and its port. The 45 individually-designed rooms, including six suites, each have a terrace or balcony featuring panoramic views over the white houses, the port of Chora and the Aegean Sea. The interior design relies on traditional elements of Mykonos architecture, and includes details like Dionysian marble floors and billowing sailcloth drapes. Each room has internet availability, home cinema and cd/dvd library access.
