Detailed Review
Once the summer residence of the Marquis of Lansdowne, in its day the Sheen Falls Lodge welcomed the landed gentry in their pursuit of deer hunting and salmon fishing. Thankfully today the deer roam the 300-acre estate and surrounding woodlands freely, and this luxury hotel in Kenmare boasts one of the most beautiful settings in this part of Ireland.
The facilities
With its luxury accommodations, its reserves of ageing port, its rare books and sumptuous cuisine, this luxury hotel retains the warm, welcoming atmosphere of a country manor house. The estate boasts a plethora of outdoor activities; salmon fishing on a private stretch of the Sheen River, daily horse riding treks from the stables at the Lodge, hill walking trails and cycling tours.
The health spa at the Sheen Falls offers an extensive range of pampering beauty and body treatments. Throughout, the dedicated staff uphold the most outstanding service, making a stay here as unforgettable and unique as Ireland itself.
Press Quotes
“Sheen Falls Lodge is a five-star country house hotel. Keeping true to its history as the summer retreat of the Marquis of Lansdowne, the guest rooms feature custom-made furnishings and tailored bedside reading provided by the lodge’s librarian. The real selling point, however, is the landscape.” Telegraph 07

"Pleasant take on the country house experience, gorgeous views and a spa"
Sheen Falls Lodge

The rooms have a snug elegance, the spa has a sauna and steam room ideal for winding down after a hard days clay pigeon-shooting, horse-riding out towards the impressive Caha mountain, or a round of golf at the nearby Ring of Kerry course. A fine selection of local whiskies does a similar trick
