shopping.Right next to Cracco Peck - an amazingdelicatessen. Lovely cafes and restaurantsnearby. The room wasbig. service was very helpful. No restaurant in hotel but goodbreakfast. Room/bathroom adequate but nothingspecial. Very little open space in this hotel so not forthose looking for a business style hotel but it is bright. interesting art and colours and the breakfastarea although very small is cosy and the breakfast itself is very nice. Staff were polite and friendly although didn'treally help us with our enquiries about public transport (one lady not sure if we could get a 2 or 3 day card for the metro). We were on the 1st floor so avoided using thetiny lift (a squeeze for two people!. Internet access in the lounge areauseful. Management and staff were pleasant andhelpful. our room was comfortable and beautifullydecorated (the hotel is blessedly chintz-free) and the location is terrific. There are plenty of nice restaurantsnearby. you can walk to the river and roundChelsea. the V&A is a short walkaway. and the South Ken underground station is veryhandy for getting around London and nights out at the theatre. Despite the poor exchange rate between theAustralian dollar and the British pound and London's hideous expensiveness. we thought that Sydney House was goodvalue. ,,Wendy Walker,On par with many 4 star resorts I have been to,""My husband and I stayed at the Taj Exotica Sri Lanka with our 5 month old son. Whilst all the staff were very friendly andhelpful we found the management to be less so. We were initially placed in a room that was notcleaned and had twin beds and when we asked to be moved it could not be done for 24 hours. We had to persist to be compensated for thisinconvenience which we were disappointed about. The rooms and facilities weregood. although on par with many 4 star resorts I havebeen to. The food was excellent and evening entertainmentwas very good and varied.""".
