Detailed Review
The Hotel The Gray, located in the hearth of Milan, is just in between the Duomo and the Scala and very close to Galleria Vittorio Emanuele, an important meeting point, with its elegant shops, coffee and tea houses. The modern furnishings of the hall, its design expressly studied, and the other public reception rooms welcome guests with the warmth of the lighting and quiet distinction. 21 Guest Rooms all individually appointed and 2 rooms with private gyms.
In the restaurant "Le Noir", very famous for its style, customers can choose between meat or fish menu, one can enjoy tasty dishes from its creatively revisited Mediterranean cuisine and an international cuisine, accompanied by excellent wines. Recommended for business lunch or brunch too.
Press Quotes
"Clubby, slightly elitist atmosphere (only guests use the facilities) and as design-conscious as you'd expect from a hotel in the Design Hotels consortium." Telegraph 07

The Gray
By Joanna MonkhouseMilan is the worlds fashion mecca and the in-crowd are discovering the new place to stay whilst worshiping. The Gray is Milans hippest hotel, just off the Galeria next to the Duomo. Shop til you drop, enter the silver-walled lobby, perch on the red and fuchsia hanging seat, drop into Il Bar for a cocktail and lounge on a similarly accented sofa. Le Noir is a cocoon of a restaurant, black and white accessorised in oriental red. The subdued lighting is well-suited to a hangover-friendly late breakfast, a restful lunch or a stylish dinner. The Grays 21 ultra-modern rooms feature the highest specifications flat screen plasma tv, dvd, cd, wifi, 2 isdn lines, voicemail, a minibar hidden behind a sliding wall, ostrich skin beds, down bedding, dark wooden floors, neutral colours with the occasional colourful splash. The bathrooms are a delight unto themselves hydro shower or bath, or for Gray 3 rooms a round hydro tub (more like a mini-swimming pool), twin basins lined with banana palm leaves to welcome the guest jungle style, luxe products and in some rooms the two merge with a Philippe Starck bath next to the bed. Gray 2 rooms come with their own private gym for super rich health freaks. Service is as yet untested, but with rates as high as these (and remember they are excluding breakfast and tax) and considering the expectations of those that can afford them, it must surely be heavenly.

The Gray Hotel
By The TI Review TeamCreated by Florentine architect Guido Ciompi, of Gucci boutique fame, The Gray strikes a perfect balance between designer chic and relaxed comfort. Located just seconds from the Galleria and the Duomo, the hotel combines top-of-the-line service with stunning contemporary aesthetics. Space within the hotel may be limited, but every corner has been used with brilliant efficiency and each room is dramatically different. Guests can choose from such intriguing options as a suspended bed, a personal fitness centre, a Turkish bath, a private terrace, or a plasma screen above the Jacuzzi. Even the standard rooms are far from predictable, with curving walls, natural colours and bathrooms stocked with the hotel’s own line of top quality bath products. The eye-catching design features extend to the lobby the shocking pink cushioned swing will bring out the child in every guest. Headed by renowned chef Sarzi Sartori Luciano, the hotels restaurant, Le Noir, serves a regularly changing menu of modern Italian food in a sophisticated dining room decorated with coloured points of light. There is also a minimalist bar, just off the foyer, with tables that light from within, offsetting the dimming of natural daylight. Guests at The Gray can use the spa facilities at the nearby Hotel de la Ville, including the fitness centre, Jacuzzi, Turkish bath and massage room.

"An ultra-exclusive, fashionista-friendly boutique hotel with a smart, contemporary interior, veering towards the masculine."
The Gray Hotel
By Ken Scrudato
Since everyone is following someone elses trend in Milan, The Gray now follows Town House 31 in Milan’s new boutique lodging race. The Gray, however, is a bastion of rarefied elegance, clubby, private and privileged. In this exquisite refurbishment of a historical residence, only guests are allowed to roam premises, and they’re doted on like royalty. There’s an intimate restaurant and bar, a fitness center, plasma TVs, and a wealth of modern technology. Of the 21 rooms, two feature--would we kid you?--private steam rooms. Not for the self-conscious, The Gray gives the expression "embarrassment of riches" a whole new plateau. Darling.
