The Hotel Art is in an excellent location on the designer shopping street of Via Margutta near the Spanish Steps. It is within walking distance of the Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon and the Villa Borghese Gardens. The Via Balbuino and Via Margutta areas are brimming with up-market galleries and antique shops.
The Hotel Art is a unique boutique hotel in Rome’s fashionable Via Margutta. It is a shrine to modern architecture and design, with two Plexiglas pod structures creating the reception area in the vast lobby. Look up and see the wonderful frescoes on the vaulted ceiling. Once a seminary, this modern designer hotel has added a space-age theme to its ecclesiastical interior, with surprises around every corner. The corridors on each of the four floors glow with different colours, and numbers are not on the doors – they are beneath your feet, fully illuminated!
The 46 rooms are decorated in a slightly less hip style, with dark wood furniture, leather headboards and luxurious bedding. The spacious quarters are air-conditioned and fully equipped with high speed internet. The modern, colorful bathrooms include bathrobes and Jacuzzis for total relaxation at the end of a day’s hard walking. With room service, elevators and local parking (for a fee) the Hotel Art has more to offer than the usual boutique hotel.
The bar is set, somewhat irreverently, on the marble altar of this former chapel. The Crystal Bar seats 20 guests who can enjoy an aperitif whilst gazing around at the arched stained glass windows coloring the walls.
Down in the basement you will find a surprisingly well-equipped gym with Turkish bath, Swedish shower and a sauna. Runners will enjoy the nearby jogging path in the Borghese Gardens. For those looking for a modern boutique hotel which is decidedly different, then look no further than the Hotel Art. Well designed and well located, it has all you could wish for in a luxury boutique hotel in Rome.
