This luxury hotel in Venice’s Santa Croce district is well located for walking to all the main sights of Venice. It is close to the Piazzale Roma, the Rialto Bridge is just a few minutes distance, and the San Marco Basilica and Square are a pleasant twenty minutes walk away. Santa Croce itself has many treasures including the Scuola Grande di San Rocco with its fine Tintoretto paintings. The Frari Church is the finest Gothic Church in Venice and has some fabulous works by Titian. The area is also known for its souvenir and mask shops, and there are a host of local restaurants close by.
This 16th century family home has been recently renovated to provide 10 rooms and suites for guests, right in the heart of old Venice. Ideal for families with its spacious bedrooms, these reasonably priced lodgings include breakfast. Rooms enjoy pleasant views over neighbouring gardens and palazzo. They are surprisingly well equipped with a hairdryer, minibar, cable TV and tea/coffee making facilities – a rarity in Venice, but there is no internet access. Bathrooms are a little on the small size but are clean and more than adequate.
The junior suites have parquet floors – ideal for children and those with allergies – and are well furnished beneath the Venetian chandeliers . The Blue suite enjoys views through the original Gothic leaded glass windows and all the accommodation has ample space for spreading out, whether for a long of short term stay. The Piano Suite is furnished with a grand piano, while other apartments are more artistically styled. The roof terrace is also available to guests and is a quiet place to relax at the end of the day.
