Detailed Review
Hotel Ca’ Pisani is a herald of the Venetian elan, reflecting the ancient republic’s many layers of time. Quartered in a revived merchant’s townhouse some 500 years old, the hotel’s elegant interior maintains its noble history while absorbing influences from the Futurist movement of the Thirties and Forties. Artworks by Fortunato Depero are on show throughout the hotel, and the futurist theme is continued into the hotel’s restaurant "La Rivista". Here, sparkling blue "starlight" tables underscore an easy-going atmosphere, where guests can enjoy delicious local dishes with a contemporary edge, and thoughtfully selected Italian wines. In the guestrooms, original beds and accessories from the same period, personally collected from across Italy by the Serandrei family, add authenticity and a unique touch to a hotel brimming with remarkable details. From the CP logo on closets to the one-off wooden inlays on each guestrooms door and the ever-changing floor lights in reception, Hotel Ca’ Pisani is as individual as its guests.

TI's choice for boutique hotel in Venice - ochre-coloured, 16th-century on the outside and art deco cool on the inside; great residential location.
Ca Pisani
By Jamie Dunford Wood
Venices first true designer hotel, the Ca Pisani is a converted house of 29 spacious and generally light rooms off wide, cool corridors. Interesting silvered furniture, walnut beds, dark wood furnishings, leather chairs and arm chairs in black and burnt orange, offset by cool cream and beige walls, create a modern elegance that is more than skin deep. Doors are of solid inlaid wood. The harmony continues in the bathrooms, the superior of which have large walk-in separate showers. Best rooms are the corner rooms with two windows and tallest ceilings are on the first floor so room 16 would be a favourite. 3rd floor rooms have lower ceilings in the eaves, but can be special. Well located behind the Accademmia and near the Peggy Guggenheim in a great part of real Venice, this is the choice for those who are looking for a modern Venetian experience.
