Detailed Review
A famous ancient palace of the 12th century, located by the gothic walls of Palazzo del Doge Marino Falier showing the magic atmosphere of old Venice.
The hotel is situated in a very quiet street that faces the waters of a romantic canal, however it remains wonderfully close to San Marco and Rialto bridge. This is a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in layers of silk, brocades, damasks and gilt mirrors that echo a Serenissima of long ago, a city of travel and commerce with the entire Orient. The Palazzo del Doge Falier situated close has been restored with passion and attention to detail.
The hotel rooms are all fitted with every necessary comfort and are elegantly furnished with original antique pieces. A buffet breakfast is available for guests also in a quaint and cosy dining room.

"Smartly done bedrooms with silk walls, chandeliers, antiques and some canal views"
Antico Doge
By Jamie Dunford Wood
Friendly and recently renovated to a high standard, the Antico Doge has three stars but provides the comfort of four.
The entrance and reception are narrow and uninviting, but once upstairs the smart light decor, polished wooden floors, and yellow, blue and cream colourways are a breath of fresh air after heavier Venetian fare. The 15 rooms all come with names - evidence of good attention to detail - and bathrooms are pf cool marble. One suite has a balcony and a 4-poster, and a junior suite has a canal view. Ceilings are high, and walls are covered in fabric, while furniture is quality repro. Venetian glass is used in abundance.
