This hotel has been accommodating Italian and foreign visitors to Venice for more than three centuries. The Beggiato family has been expertly running the hotel over three generations, adding its own tradition since the start of the 20th century when Mr. Tiberio Beggiato turned what was a small guesthouse into a renowned hotel. Ever since, the women of the Beggiato family have kept the family tradition alive, proficiently merging customs and innovation, tending to the premises as they tend to their homes.
The cosy and suggestive décor, the peace and quiet of a sound-proofed and air-conditioned building make the Hotel Concordia an elegant oasis of rest and relaxation in the beating heart of the ancient maritime republic. Inside the hotel, the guest breathes in the atmosphere of an age, distinguished by a subdued and dignified elegance.
The reception desk is situated on the first floor, a placement that avoids the inconveniences caused by Venice's seasonal (and characteristic) flooding.
The hearty breakfast buffet is always brimming with fresh fruits and vegetables and delectable Venetian baked goods.
Fresh pasta is always made in the hotel restaurant and the menu features carefully-prepared and truly delicious dishes. Those lucky guests staying in our suites with terrace have the unique opportunity to enjoy a romantic and unforgettable dinner served out on the terrace, immersed in one of the most beautiful scenes in the world, St. Mark's Square and the spires of the Basilica.

The myth of Venice is the exclusivity of a Grand Canal view. However, in most cases these are noisy with passing vaporetto's crammed with tourists, odoriferous in summer and vastly overpriced. The most pleasant aspects of all are the rooms which overlook small campos and squares some way off the main drag - quiet, bar the odd drunken reveler late at night, full of Venetian life in the day, and utterly romantic. However, there is just one hotel which overlooks the greatest square of them all - Piazza San Marco - and that's the Concordia. Okay, overlooks is a slight exaggeration, as it overlooks the Piazetta, a corner extension to the square beside St Marks, and you need to crane your head out of the window to see the whole extent of the square - but still, this is a great position. Nor is it quiet, especially in the day, when the square below is packed. However, you will feel smug as you sip a cappuccino on your balcony and watch the seething, sweating, struggling hordes below. Value wise, too, it wins hands down against the overpriced Grand Canal hotels, if value is your yardstick. However, of the 57 rooms, only two merit the effort of booking here to take advantage of the position, and both face the square, and alone of all the rooms have little balconies. They are brighter than the others, which tend towards the heavy Venetian gloom, furnished with Venetian antiques. The reception areas and small bar and restaurant are cosy and intimate, and the staff are typically Italian - that's to say their other car's a Porsche - so don't expect amenities, spas or anything swanky. But for a romantic 'room with a view' in the most romantic city of all (on a good day), those two rooms would be hard to beat.
