Hotel Overview

Hotel Flora is housed in a seventeenth-century building which has been designated as the likely location of an old School of Painting run by an acolyte of the famous painter Titian whose many masterpieces were created in Venice.

Here, the art of hospitality has reigned since 1964, when Alessandro and Diana Romanelli acquired the Hotel Flora. Successive generations have transformed this little inn into an elegant hotel while preserving the charm and warmth of a family atmosphere. This warmth is reflected in the intimate and elegant interiors, whose furnishings are the result of our preference for an informal style.

Here, in the shade of a laurel tree, you can eat breakfast, enjoy a moment of relaxation or reflect on the treasures of art and history that you have encountered during the day. Breakfast is served to guests, and there is also a small buffet.

Hotel Flora's staff is at your service for any suggestions you might need or requirement you might have: itinerary ideas, recommendations on restaurants serving local cuisine or traditional "bacari", taverns serving wine and light snacks, for lunch or a quick dinner.

The Hotel, laid out over three floors and equipped with a convenient elevator, has recently been renovated to comply with recent fire regulations.

The hotel Flora's fitness centre - Technogym provides all the guests with the opportunity to work out by themselves or with the assistance of a personal trainer in this ultra-modern gym. It is equipped with a wide range of fitness machines like motorised treadmill (Cardio), the exercise bike for cardiovascular training, the Kinesis Personal to develop your motor skills, free weights and The Unica, a multi gym bench and the most complete piece of wellness equipment for the muscle development.
The centre also houses the Gyrotonic Expansion System®, an exercise modality based on Gyrokinesis® that guides users to simultaneously stretch and strengthen muscles and tendons while also articulating and mobilizing the joints.

The Hotel Flora, as its name suggests, contains an unexpected delight: where American vines cover the wall, turning to blazing red in the autumn, and between June and September the hydrangeas are a riot of blue and pink.

Close to St Mark’s Square, the location of the magnificent Basilica and Doge’s Palace, the Hotel Flora is in the very heart of old Venice. The Teatro Fenice, Santo Stefano Church and many magnificent palazzi surround the hotel in the beautiful campos and elegant squares of the San Marco district. Further afield, yet still within easy walking distance, are the Galleria dell’Accademia and the Peggy Guggenheim Museum, both renowned for their fabulous art collections.

Located within a 17th century palazzo, this luxury hotel in Venice’s most elegant district was once the School of Painting. Many famous Venetian artists must have passed over the threshold in times gone by. 

The hotel’s 43 guest rooms are appropriately decorated and comfortably furnished with period antiques which were hand-picked by the owners, the Romanelli’s, to reflect the traditional elegance of this luxury hotel. Rooms are all different and vary in both size and outlook, but you can request a garden view. Damask fabrics and gold-painted cornices complete the elegant appeal of this delightfully old-fashioned residence. Rooms all enjoy the benefits of air conditioning, WiFi internet access, cable TV and small but luxurious bathrooms with heated towel rails.

This luxury hotel has excellent amenities including a cozy bar, furnished with plush red seating in a club-like setting, which serves everything from tea to cognac. The breakfast room serves a continental breakfast buffet to guests each morning. There is no on-site restaurant, but the concierge will be happy to recommend some excellent local dining locations.
