Detailed Review
When it opened in June 2003, the Palazzo Sant’ Angelo sul Canal Grande became the first hotel in more than 100 years to open with the main walkway entrance on Venice’s fabled waterway. An exceptionally intimate and luxurious property, offering a collection of comfortable rooms and suites â with full canal views â and some overlooking a lush courtyard garden â the Palazzo Sant’ Angelo occupies the city’s most enviable location between the Rialto and Accademia Bridges . Timeless 18th century Venetian furnishings are combined with such modern room amenities as spacious baths in Carrara and green Alps marble, all equipped with hydrojet bathtube. All rooms and suites with telephone, minibar, safe, satellite TV, CNN, dataport. The wood-panelled American Bar invites to a drink while watching the gondolas outside. A private pier offers direct access to canal boats, allowing hotel guests to arrive in grand style.
Press Quotes
"This hotel’s greatest asset is its setting in the poshest part of the Grand Canal â opposite the Ca’ Pisano Moretta, and there’s a great bar overlooking the water. Every major sight, from the Rialto, St Mark’s and the Accademia, is near by. Unfortunately, few original features remain in the bedrooms, although copious amounts of dark red damask do their best to mask this." The Times 05
