The Dar Seven is situated in the heart of the old walled city of Marrakech, down one of the many narrow ‘derbs’ or cobbled streets. It is just a short walk from the Jemaa El Fna Square, the hub of the city where market vendors and entertainers gather. The Bahia Palace, Koutoubia Mosque and the historic houses and gardens of this colourful city are all close by. Explore the vibrant souks nearby and barter for bargain rugs, leather and silverware. The airport is 20 minutes drive away.
This comfortable boutique hotel offers elegant surroundings and the ambience of a home rather than a historic riad hotel. With just 4 rooms, it is a quiet oasis amidst a busy noisy city. More upmarket that other boutique hotels in Marrakech, the Dar Seven was actually renovated as a holiday home for the owners Prince Pietro and Princess Letizia Ruspoli and their children. When not in use, they let the rooms to fortunate guests.
Laid out in the traditional riad style, the hotel is separated from the narrow street by a thick wall broken only by the sturdy wooden door. Once inside, the riad is open and airy, with light décor and white furnishings which enhance the natural light. Spread over three storeys, guests have full use of the courtyard garden for relaxing. There is an elegant dining area where breakfast is served and dinner can also be requested. The roof terrace is ideal for reading on the lounge chairs whilst enjoying the wonderful views. On cooler evenings there is a lounge and a pleasant reading room. The hotel also has its own sauna and bar. As with many riad hotels, breakfast is included in the room rate and and excellent dinner will be served upon request.
Each of the delightful air-conditioned rooms of this boutique hotel has its own charm. The first floor Loggia Room has a large black and white bedroom with exquisite furniture and a comfortable private terrace with sofa seating overlooking the courtyard. The white room is the largest and its romantic white linens and décor make it perfect for a romantic weekend. The Brown Room is decorated in a tasteful coffee-and-cream décor and has twin beds. All bathrooms are huge and feature solid tadelakt or marble baths and modern recessed sinks.
