Situated on the outskirts of Amsterdam, the luxury Hotel V is on the edge of the canal district. The central district is about 15 minutes away by tram. The Amsterdam Centre is close by for shopping, but expect to travel to restaurants, canals and the attractions of downtown Amsterdam.

Offering stylish, comfortable accommodation for those on a budget, the Hotel V is one of the best value boutique hotels in Amsterdam. It has just 24 rooms, each with a simple, minimalist appeal from the light wood furniture to the sterile yet spotless bathrooms. Plain walls are decorated with a trite slogan and cable TV, WiFi and a basic desk complete the facilities. Being further from the centre of Amsterdam than some luxury hotels has its advantages. The hotel has a relaxing garden area for guests to enjoy, and it is generally quieter at night than the hustle and bustle of the tourist areas.

The Hotel V lobby is comfortable and stylish with a huge leather sectional sofa in the light, bright space complete with a funky fireplace for the colder months. The bar is a friendly place to mingle with the few other guests and is good place to start or end the evening.

Although the distance from the centre of the city may be a problem for some, the free WiFi, excellent free breakfast and quieter location may more than compensate for other guests, especially as the hotel offers very competitive prices.
