"A central boutique hotel, a stroll away from La Pedrera and Casa Batllo, smart and savvy with a mainly business clientele."
Well-designed modern conversion has created a large business/leisure hotel of 115 rooms. Room décor is beige, black and brown, with CD players and fax machines for business users; lacking are plasma screens (coming soon) and some decent art on the walls. It has a fine courtyard restaurant for entertaining guests and all the usual meeting rooms.
Hotel Gallery
By Matthew Barker
Can just about hold its own in this design-mad city, with large, neat, bright rooms and a handsome façade. Plus points for location too: to the north of La Rambla, in the centre of the city’s cultural and shopping district. 108 rooms (5 suites).
Hotel Attractions:Café del Gallery comes complete with sunny garden terrace and well-turned out Catalan cuisine; cocktails in the Scotch bar. Health Centre boasts a gym, sauna and solarium.
Local Attractions:Now as familiar as New York: even if you haven’t been there you’ll know all about La Rambla, Gaudi’s Casa Mila and the Museu Picasso. Still a city capable of wonderful surprises though - the old Medieval town; the Boqueria market; the Palau de la Musica Catalana. If you can, go for dinner at Ca L’Isidre; grab a coffee at Café Zurich and hit the shops along Passeig de Gracia.
