Detailed Review
Designed by fashion designer Antonio Miro, it is the first boutique-hotel in the city. The 50-room hotel fuses design and functionality at its best, letting one forget being in a hotel. The hotel has been featured in the May issue of Conde Nast Traveller Magazine´s 50 Hot New Hotels List, "the world´s coolest new places to stay". The hotel has its own personality. Despite its size, it offers services of a grand hotel. Every detail has been designed to guarantee maximum comfort: low light to create a warm atmosphere, velvet drapes hang in unexpected places, and fine materials and up-to-date technologies such as LCD flat TVs or DVDs are available in every room. The rooms include a leather loveseat and a square sink designed exclusively for the hotel. There are pieces of original and exclusive design thoughout the hotel. The bathrooms can be integrated into the room with the simple gesture of opening the curtains, enabling light and conversation to flow freely through the space. The common areas have been created to foster peace and conversation. A library surrounded by antique armchairs is the ideal spot to read the newspaper or have a coffee. Miro Hotel presents a new and exquisite way to dine, a quick and healthy alternative for those who look for something different: Snacks Miro. Miro Hotel has a Sunday Brunch from 12.30-15.30. The Miro Bar specialises in cocktails and promises to be a meeting point for art lovers, both local and foreign, where clients can enjoy from jazz to chill-out music. To finish the day on a relaxing note, hotel guests can "disconnect" at the gym and Miro Spa, a "haven to the senses" in the the center of town. Art is very important for Mirohotel. Located between two museums, the Fine Arts Museum and the Guggenheim, the hotel wants to participate in the artistic life of the city. The hotel´s photography collection counts with pieces by artists such as Ana Laura Alaez, Paul Thorel, Tessio Barba, or Alberto Peral, among others. Art and culture has become a leit motive for the city of Bilbao and Mirohotel wants to be part of this important process.
