Detailed Review
AC Santo Mauro is a five star luxury boutique hotel located in the heart of Madrid’s Chamberi neighborhood, very near the Paseo de la Castellana. This was the area where at the end of the 19th-century the Spanish nobility established their residences and their small palace mansions. One of these palaces, today’s AC Santo Mauro, saw its 100th anniversary in 1994.
The facilities
It was built at the orders of the Duke of Santo Mauro and its remarkable French influence is due to the work of French architect Louis Legrand. The old palace library has been conditioned as a restaurant which features a menu of national, international and simple cuisine, while the ballrooms have been transformed into conference rooms which have access to the boutique hotel’s garden.
The bar at the AC Santo Mauro offers guests cocktails and fine Spanish wines. The boutique hotel’s fitness centre is fully equipped with exercise equipment, a heated indoor swimming pool and sauna; guests can even find a massage treatment room here. Guests with children rejoice at the “children stay free” (under 12) policy and find that the luxury boutique hotel’s babysitting service is very helpful. There is also a library and laundry services available.
The rooms
The 51 rooms at AC Santo Mauro are suitably lavish, pampering guests to the utmost, even offering butler service. Some have whirlpool baths and private balconies while all rooms have WiFi internet access along with satellite television and air conditioning. Each room at the luxury boutique hotel also features a free minibar.
