Detailed Review
Hotel Dom is a design hotel with a very unique flavour. Built in 1881, it is the oldest hotel in Saas-Fee that attracts the young and trendy from far and wide. The spirit of this self acclaimed “unique hotel” is evident upon entering the lobby. With an interior that has a mix of cosy mountain timber styles and flashy pop decorative, this design hotel is definitely an “it” place to stay. From the bright yellow fireplace to the piano suspended on the wall by steel cables, guests are sure to enjoy themselves in this creatively concocted environment.
The facilities
A main hangout and party centre for guests at this design hotel is the Popcorn Bar. Here guests can buy gear for the slops, party with live gigs at night, or relax and enjoy themselves in conversation during the day. For dining, the in-house restaurant is seated with director’s chairs covered in anything from Lauran Ashley chintz to terry towel fabrics in exotic animal patterns.
The views from this design hotel are breathtaking. Full of long run slops, the snow sights and winter sport adventures will seem endless. This three-star hotel is the perfect paradise for snowboardersâboard by day and live music by night. To relax after a day of winter sport or exploring, Hotel Dom offers a sauna, spa centre, and solarium for its guests to rejuvenate and restore themselves for some night time fun.
The rooms
This design hotel has thirty-six rooms with balconies. Contrasting with the playful and bright style of the common areas, the rooms at Hotel Dom are designed with traditional Swiss attention. Plain pine wood floors, a white bathroom and white linen eiderdowns decorate a simplistic room to relax in. Keeping a youthful flare, each room has a Sony PlayStation and CD player for guests of this design hotel to kick back and enjoy their stay.
