Hipping Hall is a boutique hotel in a 17th century country house, situated between the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales. Cosy without compromising on luxury, the boutique hotel offers a great base for exploring the surrounding countryside.
Hipping Hall has been sensitively restored and refurbished. Interior design in the public rooms references the boutique hotel’s opulent country house past without descending into chintzville. The decor is fresh and contemporary, with modern furniture sitting alongside hardwood floors and quirky original features.
The facilities
The boutique hotel’s restaurant is housed in its 15th century banqueting hall, with oak beams and an original minstrel’s gallery. Former Young Chef of the Year Jason Birkbeck serves up seasonal Modern British cuisine with experimental flair. Where possible, ingredients are sourced from the local area. The restaurant serves a different tasting menu every night, as well as Sunday lunch, light lunches and afternoon tea throughout the week. Guests feel completely spoiled.
The rooms
Hipping Hall has 9 rooms, two of which are suites. Rooms are individually decorated, with clean lines and contemporary furniture. Goodies include flat screen TVs and Vi-sprung beds. Some rooms have large limestone or copper-slate bathrooms. Room 7 is split level, with a spiral staircase from bedroom to living area, garden views and a sunken bath.
