The hotel is ideally situated in Windermere for walking, cycling or touring the Lake District and is close to all the major heritage attractions including Beatrix Potter’s ’Hilltop’ and Wordsworth’s homes. The hotel even has its own tarn where you can fish for brown trout or just listen to the silence, with fabulous views over Lake Windermere. And each evening when you return to Linthwaite after touring around the Lake District or visiting one of the many Lake District attractions, we will be there to take good care of you and help you call it a day. Linthwaite House Hotel’s two rosette award-winning restaurant serves "modern British" food and is under the stewardship of Simon Bolsover, one of the new generation of talented young British chefs. The restaurants provide the ideal setting for small, private lunches or dinners. The excellent cuisine features the best fresh, local produce - ample portions immaculately presented, with a fine selection of wines. Afternoon tea is served between 3.30 and 5.00 pm. In the evening there is a four-course table d’hote menu, which changes daily, with dining in the mirror room restaurant or the billiard room. Wherever possible we use the best of local produce. We can easily cater for any special dietary requirements, just let us know prior to arrival. There are always vegetarian options available on the menu.
