- Location

The boutique Chesterfield Hotel in Mayfair is tucked away behind Piccadilly, yet conveniently close to museums, art galleries, restaurants and of course shopping and more shopping. Oxford Street, Bond Street and Regent Street all offer many hours of retail therapy. Alternatively, Hyde Park and St James Park are close by for quieter pursuits. There are several underground stations close to the Chesterfield linking Mayfair with the rest of London and the airports.

- Highlights and Features

The Chesterfield is a well-established luxury London hotel. It has excellent staff, comfortable rooms and the attention to detail you would expect from a top boutique hotel. Although the outside is unpretentious, the reception area is resplendent with dark wood and sparkling chandeliers. From the doorman outside to the concierge within, there are thoughtful touches and splendid service at every turn. Their motto is “Ask and we’ll make it happen”, and they do! You will return to your room to find the turn-down service includes slippers and bathrobes laid out, and the TV guide open at the relevant page.

The rooms are all individually decorated. Some are very English in their décor and floral fabrics; others are boldly decorated with reminders of the African savannah, or bold stripes reminiscent of the nearby Savile Row cloths. Along with the comfortable furnishings there is High Speed Internet access in every room.

The Chesterfield is an exceptional family-friendly hotel, and that includes the dog too! The famous toy store, Hamley’s is close by, and there are many sights, museums and shows to suit every age.

In-house food is excellent, including the complimentary canapés in the early evening. A decadent afternoon tea is served in the Conservatory overlooking the gardens. The more formal Butler’s Restaurant offers a traditional Carvery alongside the more unusual offerings on the a la carte menu. Not only did Restaurant Manager, Loris Lucchini, receive manager of the Year award 2008, the Chesterfield also won Top Tea award from the Tea Guild who are certainly well qualified to make such a judgment.

Fitness fanatics may be disappointed that there is no gym or spa in the hotel. The Concierge will happily book massage and beauty treatments for you in the privacy of your own room. You can also pick up a map of jogging trails from the Concierge and enjoy some fresh air and exercise in nearby Hyde Park.

It is hard to find a bad word said about the Chesterfield, and many customers return time and time again which is surely the best recommendation of all for a luxury London hotel.
