OTT antique filled Victorian era townhouse
Miller’s Residence is a luxury boutique hotel in London’s fashionable Notting Hill. Hidden behind a plain door, you need to get the address before arriving or you will never find it! With its individual shops, cafes, delis and boutiques, Notting Hill is also the centre for antiques. The Portobello Market is the largest antique market in the world and has a host of knick-knacks, bric-a-brac and furniture for browsing. The stalls and shops are spread along the street and are open 7 days a week.
Notting Hill is served by a number of Underground stations for connections to central London and the airports.
Miller’s Residence is a small 18th century boutique hotel in trendy Notting Hill. It offers individually designed rooms, each with its own collection of antique furniture and comfortable furnishings. The eight individual suites are named after English romantic poets including Wordsworth, Byron and Blake. Service is attentive when required, and breakfast is a simple affair. There is also an interesting bar which acts as a gathering place for fellow-guests.
The breakfast room and lounge are brim-full of interesting collectables on every wall, shelf and console table. This Aladdin’s cave is both interesting and individual in its style and appeal. The owner and founder, Martin Miller, is the creator of the Miller’s Antique and Price guides, which are the reference works for the antiques world. He used his expert knowledge and creative ability to completely renovate this three-storey building into the luxury hotel it is today. The grand focal point of the hotel is the 40-foot long drawing room, filled with antiques, which can only be compared to the home of an eccentric aunt.
For a luxury hotel experience with a difference, Miller’s Residence offers a re-creation of the Victorian era. Miller himself lives in one of the suites and is happy to socialize and chat with guests. For those who want something completely different, Miller’s Residence will not disappoint.
