Detailed Review
London's foremost address for discriminating travelers, The Lanesborough captures the gracious style and warm hospitality of an early 19th-century residence. Ideally located on Hyde Park Corner, The Lanesborough stands on Knightsbridge facing Hyde Park, the heart of London. This landmark building of 1828 has been meticulously restored to its original grandeur. Taking its name from the countryside house that once stood at this prestigious location, The Lanesborough represents a revival of traditional hospitality. Here guests always will be welcomed by name and treated as valued visitors in a private home.
Press Quotes
"It’s got plenty of period grandeur: magnificent Regency architecture, a marble neo-classical lobby, and the domed Conservatory restaurant, a swish tribute to the Brighton Pavilion." Time Out 08

“London’s most exclusive six star’ property of pomp and grandeur is in this landmark Regency building near Hyde Park Corner.”
Converted hospital on Hyde Park Corner with all the luxury trappings. Oodles of staff, though not as 'cosy' as some other London hotels. Junior suites with a view of Wellington Arch are the best value accomodations.
The Lanesborough
By Matthew Barker
Blue-blooded landmark with Regency pedigree overlooking Constitution Hill and Hyde Park. The interiors are based on a 19th century town house, clubby and hush-hush, but with plenty of high-tech trickery: in-room computers combine DVD and music libraries with e-mail and internet access, and mobile phones are laid on for every guest. 49 rooms (46 suites). Hotel Attractions: The Conservatory brims with splendid colonial clutter, and chef Paul Gayler oversees a strong global menu with comfort classics and vegetarian dishes to the fore. Local Attractions: On the corner of Knightsbridge and Belgravia: parks Green and Hyde (the former linking up with St Jamess, the latter with Kensington Gardens) are within touching distance; Buckingham Palace and the Mall are a stroll away; the bright lights of Sloane Street (and thereafter Kings Road) and Harrods are just around the corner. It-eatery Nobu is up on Park Lane (further along is cheznico and Le Gavroche), or theres Zeta and Mash for chichi tipples. Decent jazz at Pizza on the Park.
