Detailed Review
Luxury hotel Amangani (which means “peaceful home”) in Wyoming is nearly 2,135 metres (7,000ft) above sea level, overlooking meadows, grazing land and the Teton Range of the Rocky Mountains. Come to this luxury hotel for a calming and sophisticated retreat away from the city. You’ve never seen bigger skies, or better views.
The facilities
The luxury hotel’s restaurant, The Grill, serves up a hearty American breakfast, lunch and dinner. Make like a (very refined) cowboy and chow down on steaks, chops and seafood, as well as lots of locally-sourced organic options. The restaurant has a cosy wood-burning fireplace, redwood-panelled walls and ceiling and spectacular views of the Rockies, as well as rawhide and rattan chairs.
Amangani’s Health Centre has a gym, two exercise studios, four treatment rooms and separate steam rooms for men and women. A variety of one-on-one programmes are offered in the exercise salon, including aerobics, restorative yoga and meditation.
If you’re after some extra indulgence, the luxury hotel offers a range of massages and facials, including a hydraulic treatment massage bed. Separate mud, salt and seaweed body treatments are available as well, while haircuts and deep conditioning, along with manicures and pedicures, are offered in the beauty salon. You could go home with a whole new look!
Amangani’s outdoor swimming pool is a real oasis, heated all year round and with its own whirlpool attached. Guests swim in front of panoramic mountain views, which is particularly magical at sunset.
The rooms
Amangani has 40 luxury suites in all, including 29 Standard Suites, 6 Deluxe Suites, 4 Amangani Suites and the Grand Teton Suite. Rooms are redwood-heavy, with clear-heart redwood floors and king-size redwood bed frames. Wild-West furniture includes a black resin-and-terrazzo dining table, woven cowhide chairs in faux wolf fabric and a pine-stump table.
The best bit of the luxury hotel suites are their private deck views of the snow-capped Rockies. You can also enjoy this breathtaking panorama from the deep tub in your bathroom.
