Traditional Art Deco
With a coveted address on Collins Avenue, this historic Art Deco hotel is in the heart of Miami’s South Beach. Just steps from the white sand beach to the rear, and mingling with the designer shops to the front, the Raleigh Hotel is within walking distance of the Convention Centre and pedestrianized Lincoln Road. The Raleigh is surrounded by all the restaurants, shops and clubs which Miami is known for.
The Raleigh is deservedly proud of its historic roots, originally designed by L. Murray Dixon. He became one of the key architects of the charming Art Deco hotels of Miami’s South Beach area. Recently renovated under the careful direction of André Balazs, this boutique Miami hotel has retained the charm of the 1920’s with its elegant style and furnishings. The uniquely shaped pool is surrounded by plush sunbeds, just yards from the ocean. It has a delightful bar shaped as a ship’s funnel complete with a wooden deck and railings. There is a cooling waterfall and cute changing rooms with swinging half-doors. Staff circulate with chilled, perfumed towels to keep guests cool and refreshed as they toast.
Each guest room in this delightful boutique hotel offers space and comfort with great city views or beachside balconies. Cool terrazzo flooring, porthole windows and simple lines on the period furniture retain the art deco theme. WiFi connections and flat screen TVs merge effortlessly to provide 21st century technology. Modern bathrooms add a touch of luxury with Kiehl’s products.
The restaurant is well-renowned for its high standards of cuisine in a lovely outdoor setting on deeply cushioned chairs. Although the Raleigh does not have its own spa services, it offers a shuttle to its sister hotel, the Standard, which is well known for its Turkish hammam, mud lounge and spa bath treatments.
