Last year my sister and I stayed at the Soho
Grand in New York City for two weeks.We had an amazing room on the 16th floor withviews of the Empire State Building on one side and the harbour on the other. The price was excellentvalue. a couple of hundred dollars off the rack rate pernight. atleast. At the beginning of eachweek. we received a free gift from themanager. a huge bag of Dean and Deluca pistachio nuts andchocolate covered strawberries respectively. The service wasexcellent. There is free tea and coffee on each floor androom service was fast. We had to send a number of items back to Sydneyand the concierge organised it through Fed Ex. Our boxes were collected quickly and sentstraight away. Our room was a King Corner room with huge glasswindows on two sides. The windows open just enough to let a good amountof air into the room. so we didn't have to rely on sterile airconditioning during our stay.The bathroom was small. but all NYC bathrooms are on the small side so itwas no big deal. The bathroom amenities were from Bliss. which wasfantastic. The housekeeping service was discrete andthorough. The location isperfect. Greatshops. restaurants etc are just momentsaway. The subway is only a few minutes walk and thereare galleries and clubs all within walking distance. We had a fabulous time and we will be sure toreserve our next stay at the Soho Grand through travel intelligence in the future..
