In 1991, nine San Francisco artists put their heads and hearts together with a singleness of purpose. Their collaborative genius created the inspirational Hotel Triton, a 140-room wonderland like no other. Inspired by the original creators' imagination, our San Francisco boutique hotel continues to evolve, always staying at the forefront of all things visionary and distinct. Step inside our lobby and check out a fantastic mural that tells the story of San Francisco's growing and ever-changing art scene. We've even designed a collection of celebrity hotel suites, joining forces with some of the most dynamic names in the entertainment industry.

The Hotel Triton, a Kimpton Hotel, is also an inspiration and pioneer in environmentally friendly: Our entire Union Square hotel is cleaned with "green" products, our eco-friendly rooms and eco-celebrity suites are hugely popular, and we've partnered up with The Trust for Public Land, donating a percentage of room revenue to this visionary organization.

Best of all, just two blocks from Union Square, Hotel Triton is right in the center of the scene that drives San Francisco. Across the street from the Chinatown gates, our boutique hotel is conveniently located five blocks from Moscone Center. Hotel Triton is just a short walk to Little Italy, a quick complimentary towncar ride Monday through Friday 7-9 a.m. to the Financial District, or a smooth stroll to historic Nob Hill.

The Triton Hotel is centrally located between the downtown district, the huge Chinatown area (the gates are right across the street) and the financial district of this lively city. It is ideally situated for both business and pleasure, being just a couple of blocks from the exclusive shopping on Union Square. The Fisherman’s Wharf area is within easy reach and has a collection of excellent museums, shops and cafés right on the waterfront. Other must-see San Francisco attractions are Alcatraz Island and the Golden Gate Bridge.

Along with a commitment to green cleaning products, a percentage of room revenue is donated to the charitable Trust for Public Land.

The 140 rooms and suites of this unique boutique hotel are decorated in flights of fantasy blending pop culture with a bright, modern flair. Bright red walls, animal prints and unusually shaped desks make each room uniquely interesting. Solo travellers may opt for one of the calming Zen rooms. WiFi internet access, flat screen TV with Nintendo, iHome docking station, air filter systems and energy efficient lighting all add to the appeal of each spacious bedroom. Most unique of all is the Haagen Dazs room complete with imitation chocolate headboard, and ‘sweet spot’ ice cream cabinet filled with Haagen Dazs Reserve ice cream and chocolate bars, all on the house.
